P0101

WatchEngine & fuel system

Mass airflow sensor — out of range

The MAF sensor is reading airflow that doesn't match other sensors. Often a dirty filter or sensor.

Common causes

  • Dirty MAF sensor (most common)
  • Air filter clogged
  • Intake leak between MAF and throttle body

First thing to try:

Replace the air filter if it's old; spray MAF cleaner on the wire (engine off).

Can I keep driving?

Usually yes, but don't leave it. The car will drive, though ignoring it tends to turn a cheap fix into an expensive one.
